Charity Cycle Challenge in North Norfolk, 11–12 June 2011

After two very successful sponsored cycle rides around the Isle of Wight and the Solent, we went to a different part of the UK for this event.

The 100 km route took in picturesque North Norfolk villages and stunning scenery. The route was varied and interesting but, of particular interest for the less regular cyclists, was predominantly flat!

The fastest completed the route in about 6 hours and the last people returned to the hostel after about 10 hours.

Our base for the weekend was the Youth Hostel at Wells next the Sea. Originally housing the village’s church rooms, it is now a comfortable, well furnished hostel with good communal areas.
